Thenextmorningatsun-risewecontinuedourmarch,andarrivedwithintwohundredyardsofthecitygatesaboutnoon. Theemperor,andallhiscourt,cameouttomeetus; buthisgreatofficerswouldbynomeanssufferhismajestytoendangerhispersonbymountingonmybody.
