           Bythetimehehadwalkedthreeorfourmileseveryshapeinthelandscapehadassumedauniformhueofblackness.HedescendedYalburyHillandcouldjustdiscernaheadofhimawaggon,drawnupunderagreatover-hangingtreebytheroadside.
