Icameintoasittingposition,andoneveryhandthebluebacksoftheSeleniteswererecedingintothedarkness.Ibentalinkbymainforceanduntwistedthechainthathadhamperedmeabouttheankles,andsprangtomyfeet,withthechaininmyhand.Anothergoad,flungjavelin-wise,whistledbyme,andImadearushtowardsthedarknessoutofwhichithadcome.ThenIturnedbacktowardsCavor,whowasstillstandinginthelightoftherivuletnearthegulfconvulsivelybusywithhiswrists,andatthesametimejabberingnonsenseabouthisidea.
“Comeon!”Icried.
“Myhands!”heanswered.
