           If,onthecontrary,duringarainyperiodwhichhasalreadyhadalongduration,thebarometercommencestoriseslowlyandregularly,verycertainlyfineweatherwillcome,anditwilllastmuchlongerifalongintervalelapsesbetweenitsarrivalandtherisingofthebarometer.

           3.Inthetwocasesgiven,ifthechangeofweatherfollowsimmediatelythemovementofthebarometricalcolumn,thatchangewilllastonlyaveryshorttime.

           4.Ifthebarometerriseswithslownessandinacontinuousmannerfortwoorthreedays,orevenmore,itannouncesfineweather,evenwhentherainwillnotceaseduringthosethreedays,andviceversa;butifthebarometerrisestwodaysormoreduringtherain,then,thefineweatherhavingcome,ifitcommencestofallagain,thefineweatherwilllastaveryshorttime,andviceversa.

           5.Inthespringandintheautumn,asuddenfallofthebarometerpresageswind.Inthesummer,iftheweatherisverywarm,itannouncesastorm.Inwinter,afterafrostofsomeduration,arapidfallingofthebarometricalcolumnannouncesachangeofwind,accompaniedbyathawandrain;butarisingwhichhappensduringafrostwhichhasalreadylastedacertaintime,prognosticatessnow.

           6.Rapidoscillationsofthebarometershouldneverbeinterpretedaspresagingdryorrainyweatherofanyduration.Thoseindicationsaregivenexclusivelybytherisingorthefallingwhichtakesplaceinaslowandcontinuousmanner.
