           Barbicaneappearedhighlypleasedonobservingtheprogressiveelevationoftheland;andinanswertoaquestionofJ.T.Maston,replied:

           "Myworthyfriend,wecannotdobetterthansinkourColumbiadinthesehighgrounds."
