           Causticpotashhasagreataffinityforcarbonicacid;anditissufficienttoshakeitinorderforittoseizeupontheacidandformbicarbonateofpotassium.Bythesetwomeanstheywouldbeenabledtorestoretothevitiatedairitslife-supportingproperties.
