ThatnighthelayinSherwoodForestuponabedofsweetgreenleaves,andearlythenextmorninghesetforthfromthewoodlandsforNottinghamTown,RobinHoodandallofhisbandgoingwithhim.Youmayguesswhatastirtherewasinthegoodtownwhenallthesefamousoutlawscamemarchingintothestreets.AsfortheSheriff,heknewnotwhattosaynorwheretolookwhenhesawRobinHoodinsuchhighfavorwiththeKing,whileallhisheartwasfilledwithgallbecauseofthevexationthatlayuponhim.
ThenextdaytheKingtookleaveofNottinghamTown;soRobinHoodandLittleJohnandWillScarletandAllanaDaleshookhandswithalltherestoftheband,kissingthecheeksofeachman,andswearingthattheywouldoftencometoSherwoodandseethem.TheneachmountedhishorseandrodeawayinthetrainoftheKing.
