AftertheKingleftthearcheryground,hewentstraightwaytohiscabinet,andwithhimwenttheBishopofHerefordandSirRobertLee;buttheKingsaidneverawordtothesetwo,butsatgnawinghisnetherlip,forhisheartwasgalledwithinhimbywhathadhappened.AtlasttheBishopofHerefordspoke,inalow,sorrowfulvoice:"Itisasadthing,YourMajesty,thatthisknavishoutlawshouldbelettoescapeinthiswise;for,lethimbutgetbacktoSherwoodForestsafeandsound,andhemaysnaphisfingersatkingandking’smen."
