           ‘Yououghttobeashamedofyourselves,’saidthevoiceofMr.Raddle,whichappearedtoproceedfrombeneathsomedistantbed-clothes.

           ‘Ashamedofthemselves!’saidMrs.Raddle.‘Whydon’tyougodownandknock’emeveryonedownstairs?Youwouldifyouwasaman.’‘IshouldifIwasadozenmen,mydear,’repliedMr.Raddlepacifically,‘buttheyhavetheadvantageofmeinnumbers,mydear.’

           ‘Ugh,youcoward!’repliedMrs.Raddle,withsupremecontempt.‘DOyoumeantoturnthemwretchesout,ornot,Mr.Sawyer?’

           ‘They’regoing,Mrs.Raddle,they’regoing,’saidthemiserableBob.‘Iamafraidyou’dbettergo,’saidMr.BobSawyertohisfriends.‘Ithoughtyouweremakingtoomuchnoise.’

           ‘It’saveryunfortunatething,’saidtheprimman.‘Justasweweregettingsocomfortabletoo!’Theprimmanwasjustbeginningtohaveadawningrecollectionofthestoryhehadforgotten.

           ‘It’shardlytobeborne,’saidtheprimman,lookinground.
