Atthispointtheremainderoftheguestsinterposed,andremonstratedwithbothpartiesontheimproprietyoftheirconduct;onwhichMr.NoddybeggedtostatethathisfatherwasquiteasrespectableasMr.Gunter’sfather;towhichMr.GunterrepliedthathisfatherwastothefullasrespectableasMr.Noddy’sfather,andthathisfather’ssonwasasgoodamanasMr.Noddy,anydayintheweek.Asthisannouncementseemedthepreludetoarecommencementofthedispute,therewasanotherinterferenceonthepartofthecompany;andavastquantityoftalkingandclamouringensued,inthecourseofwhichMr.Noddygraduallyallowedhisfeelingstooverpowerhim,andprofessedthathehadeverentertainedadevotedpersonalattachmenttowardsMr.Gunter.TothisMr.Gunterrepliedthat,uponthewhole,heratherpreferredMr.Noddytohisownbrother;onhearingwhichadmission,Mr.Noddymagnanimouslyrosefromhisseat,andprofferedhishandtoMr.Gunter.Mr.
