           ‘Certainly,mydear,’SaidMr,Nupkins.‘Muzzle!’

           ‘Yes,yourWorship.’

           ‘Leavethehouse!’saidMr.Nupkins,wavinghishandemphatically.

           Jinglesmiled,andmovedtowardsthedoor.

           ‘Stay!’saidMr.Pickwick.Jinglestopped.

           ‘Imight,’saidMr.Pickwick,‘havetakenamuchgreaterrevengeforthetreatmentIhaveexperiencedatyourhands,andthatofyourhypocriticalfriendthere.’

           JobTrotterbowedwithgreatpoliteness,andlaidhishanduponhisheart.

           ‘Isay,’saidMr.Pickwick,growinggraduallyangry,‘thatImighthavetakenagreaterrevenge,butIcontentmyselfwithexposingyou,whichIconsideradutyIowetosociety.Thisisaleniency,Sir,whichIhopeyouwillremember.’

           WhenMr.Pickwickarrivedatthispoint,JobTrotter,withfacetiousgravity,appliedhishandtohisear,asifdesirousnottoloseasyllableheuttered.
