           ‘There’ssomethin’inthat,’saidSam,ruminating;‘there’ssomethin’inthat.’

           ‘IfIknewanyrespectablegentlemanwhowouldtakethematterup,’continuedMr.Trotter.‘Imighthavesomehopeofpreventingtheelopement;butthere’sthesamedifficulty,Mr.Walker,justthesame.Iknownogentlemaninthisstrangeplace;andtentooneifIdid,whetherhewouldbelievemystory.’

           ‘Comethisway,’saidSam,suddenlyjumpingup,andgraspingthemulberrymanbythearm.‘Mymas’r’sthemanyouwant,Isee.’AndafteraslightresistanceonthepartofJobTrotter,Samledhisnewly-foundfriendtotheapartmentofMr.Pickwick,towhomhepresentedhim,togetherwithabriefsummaryofthedialoguewehavejustrepeated.
