           ‘Theyareverybeautiful,’saidMr.Pickwick,asthejuvenilesturnedaway,afterbeingpresented.

           ‘Theyareveryliketheirmamma,Sir,’saidMr.Pott,majestically.

           ‘Oh,younaughtyman,’exclaimedMrs.LeoHunter,playfullytappingtheeditor’sarmwithherfan(Minervawithafan!).

           ‘Whynow,mydearMrs.Hunter,’saidMr.Pott,whowastrumpeterinordinaryattheDen,‘youknowthatwhenyourpicturewasintheexhibitionoftheRoyalAcademy,lastyear,everybodyinquiredwhetheritwasintendedforyou,oryouryoungestdaughter;foryouweresomuchalikethattherewasnotellingthedifferencebetweenyou.’

           ‘Well,andiftheydid,whyneedyourepeatit,beforestrangers?’saidMrs.LeoHunter,bestowinganothertapontheslumberinglionoftheEatanswillGAZETTE.

           ‘Count,count,’screamedMrs.LeoHuntertoawell-whiskeredindividualinaforeignuniform,whowaspassingby.

           ‘Ah!youwantme?’saidthecount,turningback.
