           Incompliancewiththisunceremoniousinvitation,JingleandJobwalkedintotheroom,but,seeingMr.Pickwick,stoppedshortinsomeconfusion.‘Well,’saidPerker,‘don’tyouknowthatgentleman?’

           ‘Goodreasonto,’repliedMr.Jingle,steppingforward.‘Mr.Pickwickdeepestobligationslifepreservermadeamanofmeyoushallneverrepentit,Sir.’

           ‘Iamhappytohearyousayso,’saidMr.Pickwick.‘Youlookmuchbetter.’

           ‘Thankstoyou,sirgreatchangeMajesty’sFleetunwholesomeplacevery,’saidJingle,shakinghishead.Hewasdecentlyandcleanlydressed,andsowasJob,whostoodboltuprightbehindhim,staringatMr.Pickwickwithavisageofiron.

           ‘WhendotheygotoLiverpool?’inquiredMr.Pickwick,halfasidetoPerker.

           ‘Thisevening,Sir,atseveno’clock,’saidJob,takingonestepforward.‘Bytheheavycoachfromthecity,Sir.’

           ‘Areyourplacestaken?’

           ‘Theyare,sir,’repliedJob.

           ‘Youhavefullymadeupyourmindtogo?’

           ‘Ihavesir,’answeredJob.
