           Samhadscarcelyrecoveredhisusualcomposureofcountenance,whichhadbeengreatlydisturbedbythesecretcommunicationofhisrespectedrelative,whenMr.Pickwickaccostedhim.

           ‘Sam,’saidthatgentleman.

           ‘Sir,’repliedMr.Weller.

           ‘Iamgoingforawalkroundtheprison,andIwishyoutoattendme.Iseeaprisonerweknowcomingthisway,Sam,’saidMr.Pickwick,smiling.

           ‘Wich,Sir?’inquiredMr.Weller;‘thegen’l’m’nviththeheado’hair,ortheinterestin’captiveinthestockin’s?’

           ‘Neither,’rejoinedMr.Pickwick.‘Heisanolderfriendofyours,Sam.’

           ‘O’mine,Sir?’exclaimedMr.Weller.

           ‘Yourecollectthegentlemanverywell,Idaresay,Sam,’repliedMr.Pickwick,‘orelseyouaremoreunmindfulofyouroldacquaintancesthanIthinkyouare.Hush!notaword,Sam;notasyllable.Hereheis.’
