           ‘WhatCANhemeanbythis?’saidMr.Snodgrass,whenthehorsehadexecutedthismanoeuvreforthetwentiethtime.

           ‘Idon’tknow,’repliedMr.Tupman;‘itlooksverylikeshying,don’tit?’Mr.Snodgrasswasabouttoreply,whenhewasinterruptedbyashoutfromMr.Pickwick.

           ‘Woo!’saidthatgentleman;‘Ihavedroppedmywhip.’‘Winkle,’saidMr.Snodgrass,astheequestriancametrottinguponthetallhorse,withhishatoverhisears,andshakingallover,asifhewouldshaketopieces,withtheviolenceoftheexercise,‘pickupthewhip,there’sagoodfellow.’Mr.Winklepulledatthebridleofthetallhorsetillhewasblackintheface;andhavingatlengthsucceededinstoppinghim,dismounted,handedthewhiptoMr.
