           Thisitwas,thescreamingofthewomen,thatmosttriedmynerves.Itmusthavetried,too,thenervesofthered-facedman,forIhaveanotherpicturewhichwillneverfadefrommymind.Thestoutgentlemanisstuffingthemagazineintohisovercoatpocketandlookingoncuriously.Atangledmassofwomen,withdrawn,whitefacesandopenmouths,isshriekinglikeachorusoflostsouls;andthered-facedman,hisfacenowpurplishwithwrath,andwitharmsextendedoverheadasintheactofhurlingthunderbolts,isshouting,"Shutup!Oh,shutup!"
