           Andnow,indeed,mystockofcornincreasing,Ireallywantedtobuildmybarnsbigger. Iwantedaplacetolayitupin,fortheincreaseofthecornnowyieldedmesomuchthatIhadofthebarleyabouttwentybushels,andofthericeasmuch,ormore,insomuchthatnowIresolvedtobegintouseitfreely; formybreadhadbeenquitegoneagreatwhile; also,Iresolvedtoseewhatquantitywouldbesufficientformeawholeyear,andtosowbutonceayear. 

           Uponthewhole,IfoundthatthefortybushelsofbarleyandricewasmuchmorethanIcouldconsumeinayear; soIresolvedtosowjustthesamequantityeveryyearthatIsowedthelast,inhopesthatsuchaquantitywouldfullyprovidemewithbread,etc. 

           Allthewhilethesethingsweredoing,youmaybesuremythoughtsrunmanytimesupontheprospectoflandwhichIhadseenfromtheothersideoftheisland, andIwasnotwithoutsecretwishesthatIwereonshorethere,fancyingtheseeingthemainland,andinaninhabitedcountry,Imightfindsomewayorothertoconveymyselffarther,andperhapsatlastfindsomemeansofescape. 

           ButallthiswhileImadenoallowanceforthedangersofsuchacondition, andhowImightfallintothehandsofsavages,andperhapssuchasImighthavereasontothinkfarworsethanthelionsandtigersofAfrica;
