           Idescendedalittleonthesideofthatdeliciousvale,surveyingitwithasecretkindofpleasure,thoughmixedwithmyotherafflictingthoughts,tothinkthatthiswasallmyown; andIwaskingandlordofallthiscountryindefeasibly,andhadarightofpossession; and,ifIcouldconveyit,ImighthaveitininheritanceascompletelyasanylordofamanorinEngland. Isawhereabundanceofcocoatrees,orange,andlemon,andcitrontrees;butallwild,andveryfewbearinganyfruit,atleastnotthen. However,thegreenlimesthatIgatheredwerenotonlypleasanttoeat,butverywholesome; andImixedtheirjuiceafterwardswithwater,whichmadeitverywholesome,andverycoolandrefreshing. 

           IfoundnowIhadbusinessenoughtogatherandcarryhome; andIresolvedtolayupastore,aswellofgrapesaslimesandlemonstofurnishmyselfforthewetseason,whichIknewwasapproaching. 

           Inordertothis,Igatheredagreatheapofgrapesinoneplace,andalesserheapinanotherplace; andagreatparceloflimesandlemonsinanotherplace; andtakingafewofeachwithme,Itravelledhomeward;andresolvedtocomeagain,andbringabagorsack,orwhatIcouldmake,tocarrytheresthome. 

           Accordingly,havingspentthreedaysinthisjourney,Icamehome(soImustnowcallmytentandmycave); butbeforeIgotthither,thegrapeswerespoiled;
