ThiseveningIrenewedthemedicine,whichIhadsupposeddidmegoodthedaybefore,viz.,thetobaccosteepedinrum; onlyIdidnottakesomuchasbefore,nordidIchewanyoftheleaf,orholdmyheadoverthesmoke. However,Iwasnotsowellthenextday,whichwasthefirstofJuly,asIhopedIshouldhavebeen; forIhadalittlespiceofthecoldfit,butitwasnotmuch.

ButasIwasdiscouragingmyselfwithsuchthoughts,itoccurredtomymindthatIporedsomuchuponmydeliverancefromthemainaffliction,thatIdisregardedthedeliveranceIhadreceived; andIwas,asitwere,madetoaskmyselfsuchquestionsasthese,viz.,HaveInotbeendelivered,andwonderfullytoo,fromsickness? fromthemostdistressedconditionthatcouldbe,andthatwassofrightfultome? andwhatnoticeIhadtakenofit?
