Notwithstandingtheincreasingwarmthoftheamicablecontest,themostdecorousChristianassembly,notevenexceptingthoseinwhichitsreverendministersarecollected,mighthavelearnedawholesomelessonofmoderationfromtheforbearanceandcourtesyofthedisputants.ThewordsofUncaswerereceivedwiththesamedeepattentionasthosewhichfellfromthematurerwisdomofhisfather;andsofarfrommanifestinganyimpatience,neitherspokeinreply,untilafewmomentsofsilentmeditationwere,seemingly,bestowedindeliberatingonwhathadalreadybeensaid.
