           Sosaying,heextendedhishandtoIvanhoe,whopressedittohislips,tookleaveofthePrior,mountedhishorse,anddeparted,withWambaforhiscompanion.Ivanhoefollowedthemwithhiseyes,untiltheywerelostintheshadesofthesurroundingforest,andthenreturnedintotheconvent.

           Butshortlyaftermatin-song,herequestedtoseethePrior.Theoldmancameinhaste,andenquiredanxiouslyafterthestateofhishealth.
