           WaldemarbroughttherumourtoPrinceJohn,announcing,thathefeareditstruththemorethattheyhadsetoutwithasmallattendance,forthepurposeofcommittinganassaultontheSaxonCedricandhisattendants.AtanothertimethePrincewouldhavetreatedthisdeedofviolenceasagoodjest;butnow,thatitinterferedwithandimpededhisownplans,heexclaimedagainsttheperpetrators,andspokeofthebrokenlaws,andtheinfringementofpublicorderandofprivateproperty,inatonewhichmighthavebecomeKingAlfred.
