Wehadknockedthosethreeoldgentlemenofftheirchairsintoageneralheapatthebottomoftheboat,andtheywerenowslowlyandpainfullysortingthemselvesoutfromeachother,andpickingfishoffthemselves; andastheyworked,theycursedus—notwithacommoncursorycurse,butwithlong,carefully-thought-out,comprehensivecurses,thatembracedthewholeofourcareer,andwentawayintothedistantfuture,andincludedallourrelations,andcoveredeverythingconnectedwithus—good,substantialcurses.
Harristoldthemtheyoughttobegratefulforalittleexcitement,sittingtherefishingallday, andhealsosaidthathewasshockedandgrievedtohearmentheiragegivewaytotemperso.
