           Mr.Heathcliff,whogrewmoreandmoredisinclinedtosociety,hadalmostbanishedEarnshawfromhisapartment.OwingtoanaccidentatthecommencementofMarch,hebecameforsomedaysafixtureinthekitchen.Hisgunburstwhileoutonthehillsbyhimself;asplintercuthisarm,andhelostagooddealofbloodbeforehecouldreachhome.Theconsequencewasthat,perforce,hewascondemnedtothefiresideandtranquillity,tillhemadeitupagain.
