           Intheseblackandbodilessflightsweweresometimesaloneandsometimestogether. Whenweweretogether,myfriendwasalwaysfarahead; Icouldcomprehendhispresencedespitetheabsenceofformbyaspeciesofpictorialmemorywherebyhisfaceappearedtome, goldenfromastrangelightandfrightfulwithitsweirdbeauty,itsanomalouslyyouthfulcheeks,itsburningeyes,itsOlympianbrow,anditsshadowinghairandgrowthofbeard.
