           Withoutspeakingaword,Harding,Spilett,Neb,andHerberttooktheirplacesinthecar,whilePencroftbytheengineer’sorderdetachedsuccessivelythebagsofballast.Itwastheworkofafewminutesonly,andthesailorrejoinedhiscompanions.
