           ThentheknightsparterstookupSirMadorandledhimtohistent,andtheotherknightwentstraighttothestairfootofKingArthur’sthrone;andbythattimewasthequeencometothekingagain,andkissedhimlovingly.

           Thenboththekingandshestoopeddown,andthankedtheknight,andprayedhimtoputoffhishelmandresthim,andtotakeacupofwine.Andwhenheputhishelmetofftodrink,allpeoplesawitwasSirLancelot.Butwhenthequeenbeheldhimshesankalmosttothegroundweepingforsorrowandforjoy,thathehaddonehersuchgreatgoodnesswhenshehadshowedhimsuchunkindness.

           SoSirPatricewasburiedinthechurchofWinchester,anditwaswrittenonhistombthatSirPinellslewhimwithapoisonedapple,inerrorforSirGawain.Then,throughSirLancelot’sfavour,thequeenwasreconciledtoSirMador,andallwasforgiven.
