           ThenSirGawainrodeoverarivertosavehimself,andSirPrianiusafterhim,andsotheybothfledtilltheycametohiscompanionswhowereinthemeadow,wheretheyspentthenight.WhenSirWhishardsawSirGawainsohurt,herantohimweeping,andaskedhimwhoitwashadwoundedhim;andSirGawaintoldhimhowhehadfoughtwiththatman—pointingtoPrianius—whohadsalvestohealthemboth.“ButIcantellyeothertidings,”saidhe—“thatsoonwemustencountermanyenemies,foragreatarmyisclosetousinourfront.
