Theyfollowedhimtoabigfieldbackofthecollegebuilding,whereseveralhundredyoungOziteswereattheirclasses.Inoneplacetheyplayedfootball,inanotherbaseball.Someplayedtennis,somegolf;somewereswimminginabigpool.Uponariverwhichwoundthroughthegroundsseveralcrewsinracingboatswererowingwithgreatenthusiasm.Othergroupsofstudentsplayedbasketballandcricket,whileinoneplacearingwasropedintopermitboxingandwrestlingbytheenergeticyouths.Allthecollegiansseemedbusyandtherewasmuchlaughterandshouting.
"Thiscollege,"saidProfessorWogglebug,complacently,"isagreatsuccess.Itseducationalvalueisundisputed,andweareturningoutmanygreatandvaluablecitizenseveryyear."
"Butwhendotheystudy?"askedDorothy.
"Study?"saidtheWogglebug,lookingperplexedatthequestion.
"Yes;whendotheygettheir’rithmetic,andjogerfy,andsuchthings?"
"Oh,theytakedosesofthoseeverynightandmorning,"wasthereply.
"Whatdoyoumeanbydoses?"Dorothyinquired,wonderingly.
"Why,weusethenewlyinventedSchoolPills,madebyyourfriendtheWizard.Thesepillswehavefoundtobeveryeffective,andtheysavealotoftime.PleasestepthiswayandIwillshowyouourLaboratoryofLearning."
