“AndsoyouaregoingtotrytoliketheEarl,”hesaid.
“Yes,”answeredhislordship.“He’smyrelation,andofcourseyouhavetolikeyourrelations;andbesides,he’sbeenverykindtome.Whenapersondoessomanythingsforyou,andwantsyoutohaveeverythingyouwishfor,ofcourseyou’dlikehimifhewasn’tyourrelation;butwhenhe’syourrelationanddoesthat,why,you’reveryfondofhim.”
“Doyouthink,”suggestedMr.Havisham,“thathewillbefondofyou?”
“Well,”saidCedric,“Ithinkhewill,because,yousee,I’mhisrelation,too,andI’mhisboy’slittleboybesides,and,well,don’tyousee—ofcoursehemustbefondofmenow,orhewouldn’twantmetohaveeverythingthatIlike,andhewouldn’thavesentyouforme.”
