           Theinstanthecouldhelp,heputouthishandandofferedhisshoulderasifhehadbeensevenfeethigh.Itwasplainenoughtoeveryonethathoweveritmightbewithotherpeople,theEarlofDorincourtstrucknoterrorintothebreastofhisgrandson.

           “Godblessyourlordship!”saidthecourtesying,red-cloakedoldwomanwhohadspokentohismother;“longlifetoyou!”
