ImmediatelythePrinceandallofhispeopleflockedoutofthehallintothestreet,thattheymightseewhatwasabouttohappen.DorothyandZebjumpedoutofthebuggyandranafterthem,buttheSorcererremainedcalmlyinhisthrone.
Farupintheairwasanobjectthatlookedlikeaballoon.Itwasnotsohighastheglowingstarofthesixcoloredsuns,butwasdescendingslowlythroughtheair—soslowlythatatfirstitscarcelyseemedtomove.
Thethrongstoodstillandwaited.Itwasalltheycoulddo,fortogoawayandleavethatstrangesightwasimpossible;norcouldtheyhurryitsfallinanyway.
