Osterman,ubiquitousasever,resplendentinhisbootsandEnglishridingbreeches,movedaboutbetweenthegroups,keepingupanendlessflowoftalk,crackingjokes,winking,nudging,gesturing,puttinghistongueinhischeek,neveratalossforareply,playingthegoat.
“Thatjosher,Osterman,alwaysathismonkey-shines,butagoodfellowforallthat;brainytoo.Nothingstuckupabouthimeither,likeMagnusDerrick.”
