           “SoMr.McLeansaid,”answeredFreckles.

           ShedidnotfinditnecessarytotelltheAngelthatforseveralyearsshehadknownthemanwhosoproudlyproclaimedhimselfFreckles’fathertobeabachelorandaScotchman.TheBirdWomanhadafinewayofattendingstrictlytoherownbusiness.
