Thecrisishavingpassed,Ibegantorevive,andattheendoftwoweeksandtwodays,returnedwithHarrytothepen,bearinguponmyfacetheeffectsofthemalady,whichtothisdaycontinuestodisfigureit. ElizaandEmilywerealsobroughtbacknextdayinahack,andagainwereweparadedinthesales-room,fortheinspectionandexaminationofpurchasers. Istillindulgedthehopethattheoldgentlemaninsearchofacoachmanwouldcallagain,ashehadpromised,andpurchaseme. InthateventIfeltanabidingconfidencethatIwouldsoonregainmyliberty. Customeraftercustomerentered,buttheoldgentlemannevermadehisappearance.
