“HeisMartha’sbrother.Heistwelveyearsold,”sheexplained.“Heisnotlikeanyoneelseintheworld.HecancharmfoxesandsquirrelsandbirdsjustasthenativesinIndiacharmsnakes.Heplaysaverysofttuneonapipeandtheycomeandlisten.”
Thereweresomebigbooksonatableathissideandhedraggedonesuddenlytowardhim.

Thebookwasabeautifulonewithsuperbcoloredillustrationsandheturnedtooneofthem.
“Canhedothat?”heaskedeagerly.
