ButCorneliusforgotthattheSevenProvinceshadsevenprisons,oneforeach,andthattheboardoftheprisonerisanywhereelselessexpensivethanattheHague,whichisacapital.
HisHighness,who,asitseems,didnotpossessthemeanstofeedVanBaerleattheHague,senthimtoundergohisperpetualimprisonmentatthefortressofLoewestein,verynearDort,but,alas!alsoveryfarfromit;forLoewestein,asthegeographerstellus,issituatedatthepointoftheisletwhichisformedbytheconfluenceoftheWaalandtheMeuse,oppositeGorcum.

Thensuddenlyaterriblethoughtstruckhim.
