ItiswithintherightofeveryBritishcitizen,providedhedoesnotcommitdamagenorindecorum,toappearsuddenlywhereverhepleases,andasraggedandfilthyashepleases,andwithwhateveramountofvirgingoldheseesfittoencumberhimself,andnoonehasanyrightatalltohinderanddetainhiminthisprocedure.Iformulatedthatatlasttomyself,andrepeateditoverasasortofprivateMagnaChartaofmyliberty.
OnceIhadputthatissueononeside,IcouldtakeupandconsiderinanequablemannercertainconsiderationsIhadscarcelydaredtothinkofbefore,namely,thosearisingoutofthecircumstancesofmybankruptcy.
