TodayattheCityofDublinHospitaltheDeputyCoroner(intheabsenceofMr.Leverett)heldaninquestonthebodyofMrs.EmilySinico,agedforty-threeyears,whowaskilledatSydneyParadeStationyesterdayevening.Theevidenceshowedthatthedeceasedlady,whileattemptingtocrosstheline,wasknockeddownbytheengineoftheteno’clockslowtrainfromKingstown,therebysustaininginjuriesoftheheadandrightsidewhichledtoherdeath.
JamesLennon,driveroftheengine,statedthathehadbeenintheemploymentoftherailwaycompanyforfifteenyears.Onhearingtheguard’swhistlehesetthetraininmotionandasecondortwoafterwardsbroughtittorestinresponsetoloudcries.Thetrainwasgoingslowly.
P.Dunne,railwayporter,statedthatasthetrainwasabouttostartheobservedawomanattemptingtocrossthelines.Herantowardsherandshouted,but,beforehecouldreachher,shewascaughtbythebufferoftheengineandfelltotheground.
