ThismostoffensivepersontookafancytoFettesonthespot,pliedhimwithdrinks,andhonouredhimwithunusualconfidencesonhispastcareer. Ifatenthpartofwhatheconfessedweretrue,hewasaveryloathsomerogue;andthelad’svanitywastickledbytheattentionofsoexperiencedaman.
