Theroomwaslongbutnarrowwithonewindow.Therewasonlyenoughspaceavailabletoputtwocupboardsatanangleinthecornerbythedoor,andtherestoftheroomwasentirelytakenupwiththelongdiningtablewhichstartedbythedoorandreachedallthewaytothegreatwindow,whichwasthusmadealmostinaccessible.Thetablewasalreadylaidforalargenumberofpeople,asonSundaysalmostallthetenantsatetheirdinnerhereatmidday.
