           Andso,forawholeyear,hesoughttoaccumulatethemostexquisitespecimensthathecouldfindoftextileandembroideredwork, gettingthedaintyDelhimuslins,finelywroughtwithgold-threadpalmates,andstitchedoverwithiridescentbeetles’wings; theDaccagauzes,thatfromtheirtransparencyareknownintheEastas"wovenair,"and"runningwater,"and"eveningdew"; strangefiguredclothsfromJava; elaborateyellowChinesehangings; booksboundintawnysatinsorfairbluesilks,andwroughtwithfleursdelys,birds,andimages; veilsoflacisworkedinHungarypoint; Sicilianbrocades,andstiffSpanishvelvets; Georgianworkwithitsgiltcoins,andJapaneseFoukousaswiththeirgreen-tonedgoldsandtheirmarvellously-plumagedbirds.
