           ‘IwishIknew!’thoughtpoorAlice.Sheanswered,rathersadly,‘Nothing,justnow.

           ‘Thinkagain,’itsaid:‘thatwon’tdo.

           Alicethought,butnothingcameofit.‘Please,wouldyoutellmewhatyoucallyourself?’shesaidtimidly.‘Ithinkthatmighthelpalittle.

           ‘I’lltellyou,ifyou’llmovealittlefurtheron,’theFawnsaid.‘Ican’trememberhere.

           Sotheywalkedontogetherthoughthewood,AlicewithherarmsclaspedlovinglyroundthesoftneckoftheFawn,tilltheycameoutintoanotheropenfield,andheretheFawngaveasuddenboundintotheair,andshookitselffreefromAlice’sarms.‘I’maFawn!’itcriedoutinavoiceofdelight,‘and,dearme!you’reahumanchild!’Asuddenlookofalarmcameintoitsbeautifulbrowneyes,andinanothermomentithaddartedawayatfullspeed
