"Littlebetterthanabeggar,"saidtheTownCouncillors.
"Andhereisactuallyadeadbirdathisfeet!"continuedtheMayor."Wemustreallyissueaproclamationthatbirdsarenottobeallowedtodiehere."AndtheTownClerkmadeanoteofthesuggestion.
SotheypulleddownthestatueoftheHappyPrince."Asheisnolongerbeautifulheisnolongeruseful,"saidtheArtProfessorattheUniversity.
