           Whattheysaidwasverytrue; forafewdaysafter,theKing’ssoncausedittobeproclaimedbysoundoftrumpet,thathewouldmarryherwhosefootthisslipperwouldjustfit. TheywhomheemployedbegantotryitonuponthePrincesses,thentheduchesses,andalltheCourt,butinvain. Itwasbroughttothetwosisters, whodidalltheypossiblycouldtothrusttheirfeetintotheslipper,buttheycouldnoteffectit. 

           Cinderilla,whosawallthis,andknewherslipper,saidtothemlaughing: 

           "Letmeseeifitwillnotfitme?" 

           Hersistersburstouta-laughing,andbegantobanterher. Thegentlemanwhowassenttotrytheslipper,lookedearnestlyatCinderilla,andfindingherveryhandsome,said itwasbutjustthatsheshouldtry,andthathehadorderstoleteveryonemaketryal. HeinvitedCinderillatositdown,andputtingtheslippertoherfoot,hefounditwentonveryeasily,andfittedher,asifithadbeenmadeofwax. Theastonishmenthertwosisterswereinwasexcessivelygreat, butstillabundantlygreater,whenCinderillapulledoutofherpockettheotherslipper,andputitonherfoot. Thereupon,incamehergodmother, whohavingtouched,withherwand,Cinderilla’scloaths,madethemricherandmoremagnificentthananyofthoseshehadbefore. 

           Andnowhertwosistersfoundhertobethatfinebeautifulladywhomtheyhadseenattheball. Theythrewthemselvesatherfeet,tobegpardonforalltheilltreatmenttheyhadmadeherundergo.
