           Againtheropewasattachedandhewaslaunched,andagainhestruckout,butthistimestraightintothestream. Hehadmiscalculatedonce,buthewouldnotbeguiltyofitasecondtime. Hanspaidouttherope,permittingnoslack,whilePetekeptitclearofcoils. BuckheldontillhewasonalinestraightaboveThornton; thenheturned,andwiththespeedofanexpresstrainheadeddownuponhim.
