           Thesecrawlingthingshadfascinatedmyattention,andIwaswatchingthemfromadistance,whenMissHavishamlaidahanduponmyshoulder.Inherotherhandshehadacrutch-headedstickonwhichsheleaned,andshelookedliketheWitchoftheplace.
