Well,asthingsatlastfellout,Ifoundanadmirableopportunity.ThesquireandGraywerebusyhelpingthecaptainwithhisbandages,thecoastwasclear,Imadeaboltforitoverthestockadeandintothethickestofthetrees,andbeforemyabsencewasobservedIwasoutofcryofmycompanions.
Thiswasmysecondfolly,farworsethanthefirst,asIleftbuttwosoundmentoguardthehouse;butlikethefirst,itwasahelptowardssavingallofus.
