Oh,howbeautifulthelittlehousewasnow!Butitwasatlastfinishedtrueastrue,andtheyhadtoleaveitandreturntothedance.Theyallkissedtheirhandstoitastheywentaway,andthelasttogowasBrownie.Shestayedamomentbehindtheotherstodropapleasantdreamdownthechimney.
AllthroughthenighttheexquisitelittlehousestoodthereintheFigstakingcareofMaimie,andsheneverknew.Shesleptuntilthedreamwasquitefinished,andwokefeelingdeliciouslycosyjustasmorningwasbreakingfromitsegg,andthenshealmostfellasleepagain,andthenshecalledout,’Tony,’forshethoughtshewasathomeinthenursery.AsTonymadenoanswershesatup,whereuponherheadhittheroof,anditopenedlikethelidofabox,andtoherbewildermentshesawallaroundhertheKensingtonGardenslyingdeepinsnow.Asshewasnotinthenurseryshewonderedwhetherthiswasreallyherself,soshepinchedhercheeks,andthensheknewitwasherself,andthisremindedherthatshewasinthemiddleofagreatadventure.Sherememberednoweverythingthathadhappenedtoherfromtheclosingofthegatesuptoherrunningawayfromthefairies,buthowever,sheaskedherself,hadshegotintothisfunnyplace?Shesteppedoutbytheroof,rightoverthegarden,andthenshesawthedearhouseinwhichshehadpassedthenight.Itsoentrancedherthatshecouldthinkofnothingelse.
